In July of 2025 I started backup studying for my Amateur Radio Technician class license. I had wanted to do this for well decades and other life events personal and professions always seemed to take priority. I was at the coast for a golf tournament and had a fair bit of downtime and finally took the time to seriously study.
I did have several small projects so decided the technician studying would be my priority with the projects as a way to split time up from studying.
I had purchased the online study prep at hamradioprep.com which I had started working on over a year earlier. A few days into the studying the lesions, lots of notes I started passing the pracrice tests. I eventually scheduled a test a couple days out to give myself a deadline to be ready. Passed on the first try and I am now KM7BTZ.
In September 2025 a couple months later I started studying for the General license test. I thought I was ready so I took the test and sadly missed by one question. I continued studying pretty heavy on https://hamstudy.org/ What I quickly found was there are 465 questions on the general, I guess I had not seem some enough so I retested five days later and passed much easier. This was several evenings of my wife walking in at 10:30 asking you studying?
Trying to learn all the new paths down this road now which I am sure will evolve.
